Our Leadership

As a church seeking to become fully devoted to following Jesus Christ, Jesus is our one and only leader. Our goal is to learn His teaching, apply it to our lives, and follow His mission for the world. Therefore, in order to insure that Jesus remains the leader of our community we have elders, who are volunteers, and we have ministry leaders (paid and volunteer staff). The elders act as overseers and shepherds and the ministry leaders acts as coaches.

Pastoral Staff

« Dr. Douglas Peake, Lead Pastor (BA, MA, DMin)

Pastor Doug is our community architect. Simply meaning, he wants to create a culture where people are completely engaged in their faith. He wants every person who is a part of the community to be spiritually healthy, growing in faith, connecting with Jesus and His family and making a significant difference in the world. In his own words:

“I see myself like a head coach. My role is to establish a culture where everyone gets in the game. I am not here to play the game for you, but to help you to experience Jesus and live the one and only life you have been given. People who know Jesus and know His purpose for life have better marriages, stronger children, meaningful lives, deeper relationships and perseverance. There is not a better way to know what you were made for than by knowing the One who made you.”

Pastor Doug has been in the full time ministry since 1987, been married to Kim since 1988 and has 3 children: 2 teenagers and a caboose!

Elders

Foothills Christian Church is an independent Christian Church. This means we are not a part of a denomination. Therefore, we follow the New Testament teaching of appointing elders to oversee the community of faith (Acts 14:23 and Titus 1:5).

Elders are volunteers who commit themselves to the ministry and care of the church. They regularly pray for the church, shepherd the church and keep the church focused on the Bible. They are the final step of accountability and authority in the community of faith. The qualifications for elders can be found in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3.
