Care Ministry

The care ministry at Foothills is committed to reaching out and serving our community withlove and compassion. We have the desire to be the Lord’s hands and feet, and We strive to meetthe needs of people physically, emotionally and spiritually, and are very committed to sharing thelove and hope that Jesus offers.

We have a variety of outreach opportunities targeting some different areas of the community. Our food pantry is open during church hours to supply food and hygiene needs to those in need. With the recent redesign to the food pantry we were able to increase our giving! Our “meals” program supplies readymade meals for anyone who is in need of some extra help. Along with themeals program, we have a community garden during the season, to supply fresh vegtables to the food pantry. We also host an annual Thanksgiving feast, free of charge, to all in the communitywho might otherwise not have this meal. We have recently added some new additions tothe care ministry. The first is working with foster children. In December with the help of ourcongregation we were able to collect over $2,000.00 in gift cards to send out to needy children all over the valley to help bring  joy to their Christmas.

We are currently doing a luggage and pajama drive for these children. Because of the amount of moving they do, it would be helpful tohave a nice carrier instead of garbage bags or boxes, no one should be expected to travel in this manner. Some of the other areas are we have also just recently added a house call group. This group of people gets together on a weekly basis to visit and pray with elderly or lonely members of the church, along with this we have a group of people that visit and pray with those who are in the hospital. It is always nice to be able to look forward to company! And last, but not least, we have a team of folks that serve communion to those who are home bound and cannot make it to Church. We are always looking to grow the team in the care ministry so we may serve so many more.
