For Women

Mission Statement

The Women’s Ministry exists for the purpose of bringing women to a full identity in Christ through building relationships with others, Bible study, service and outreach.

Sharing the Faith
through…

  • FRIENDSHIP… We build relationships through mutual encouragement and support through being together and learning God’s word.
  • PRAYER… We realize the tremendous power of God and how He works in our lives through prayer.
  • OUTREACH… We discover how we can influence the lives of others through the sharing of God’s love.
  • WORSHIP… Through praise, we help each other in renewing our spirits and recognizing God’s presence in our lives.

Activities and Events

Throughout the year, we sponsor special activities or events such as Women’s brunches, luncheons and mini-retreats, which provide a great time for food, fellowship, worship and learning.

Ladies’ Book Club
We select a book to read and meet approximately every six weeks to discuss it. Contact LuAnn Johnson at  for more information or to find out the current selection. Room 119; 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Sister-Sister
This ministry enables you to connect with other women by randomly matching two (or more) women and giving you a chance to get together one-on-one for fellowship and supporting each other through prayer and encouragement. If you would like to join this program, just pick up an information card at Foothills Central, fill it out and return it to the Foothills Central booth or the church office.

Meeting a Need
If you have a heart for assisting others in a time of need and would like to help with our Care & Concern Ministry, please contact the church office at

Small Groups

A variety of small groups are offered including Bible studies, book studies, fitness, and special interest groups. Every woman is encouraged to join a small group. They are a great way to deepen our relationship with the Lord and also develop friendships with other women!

Care and Concern

Hearts & Hands Food Pantry
The Food Pantry exists to help our church families during times of need by supplying food during difficult times. It is also available for the hungry outside our church who are often knocking and seeking help. Through monetary donations and clubs and families bringing in non-perishable items, we are able to stock our Food Pantry on a continual basis to help anyone in real need. We also give out food baskets to needy families during special holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. The Food Pantry also has a Pennies from Heaven benevolence fund to purchase last-minute, perishable items. Donations can be made by tossing your loose change in the basket provided at the back of the auditorium and/or by making larger contributions designated to the “Food Pantry”.

Meal Team
We make and take meals for those who are in need of emotional or physical support.

Encouragement
We visit, make phone calls or send cards to those who are in need of support at critical times in their lives.

New Baby Gift Baskets
We collect baby items and assemble gift baskets for our new arrivals!

    2010 WOMEN'S RETREAT
Our annual Women's Retreat will be held October 15, 16 and 17 at Trinity Pines in Cascade. Our speaker via DVD is Beth Moore. She will instruct us on "LOVING WELL". It's easy to love the lovely but difficult to love the unlovely – the foe or the testy people in our lives. Beth will show us how we can learn to love that "unlovely" person as well through the Grace of God and offer the encouragement and support that he or she is desperately looking for. The cost is $75 that includes lodging and meals. There will be carpools available that will leave the church on Friday afternoon and after work. Please contact Val Biderman if you need a ride at 854-1490 or Ruth Dix at 362-2831. The retreat is designed to reach out and connect with the women of Foothills Christian Church and to form relationships that will encourage and support them as sisters in Christ. Registration begins on 9/5/10. Our table will be located in the foyer at the West main entrance.
